Pesticide Residues – Who makes sure my food is safe?

The Pesticide Residues in Food Committee are planning this year’s Open Event. The event is free and is an opportunity for those interested in pesticide residues in food to learn more about the work of the committee and its role in the national food testing programme.

In addition to presentations from the the committee, various external speakers will give talks on topics related to food quality and production. Including a British vegetable grower, a member of the Red Tractor assurance scheme and a supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables to a major retailer. The Food Standards Agency will also be giving an update on the regulations which apply to higher risk imported food commodities and the official action taken to protect consumers.
