Park wardens in vehicles refuse to drive Will Young around the park to help him find his lost dog blaming health and safety.
The Panel fully agrees with Will Young that citing health and safety to justify refusing to help without giving any further explanation is very irritating. The issue here is more one of the provision of public service. There may be legitimate reasons why the assistance requested was refused – but health and safety rules are an easy excuse not the reason. Park workers should be told and encouraged to explain the reasons properly if they are not able to help a member of the public.
