A two day symposium organised by The Institute of Safety in Technology and Research (ISTR). We have a full programme with a wide range of speakers from a variety of organisations, including The Health and Safety Executive.
Day 1 will provide you with an opportunity to catch up with some of the changes in the biosafety arena, from the challenges of imaging under containment as well dealing with changes to the biosafety regulatory framework. We are also taking the opportunity to look in more detail at some of the key equipment used in the laboratory to provide you with more in-depth knowledge of the ‘dos and don’ts’ of these important controls.
Day 2 will look at the changes to a number of ACOPS, including those linked to COSHH, DSEAR, Legionnaires (L8), Workplace and the withdrawal of the ACOP relating to the Management of Health Safety at Work Regulations. We will also have an update on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS CLP) and developments in Nanotechnology. The afternoon, designed to be participative, will concentrate on spill response and control in the laboratory.
