The Health and Safety Executive is currently responding to an incident at Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire this afternoon, in which four teenagers have been seriously injured.
HSE are working with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Staffordshire Police following a collision on ‘The Smiler’ ride at the park and inspectors are at the scene. Twelve other people were also injured but none is believed to be seriously hurt.
The incident response is being led by Staffordshire Police.
HSE will not be providing any interviews at this time.
